Over the centuries, the leaders of Abu Dhabi have consulted with both townspeople and tribes and we are preserving this consultation process as an established tradition, albeit in a contemporary shape and form. By putting emphasis on sustainable and controlled development we are intending to preserve our urban environment and cultural identity. Our assigned goal is to function as an innovative platform to devise, cradle and nurture meticulously designed city environments that uphold genuine values and enhance the livability and lifestyles of Abu Dhabi’s communities. A number of influences – cultural, political, social, environmental and aesthetic – shape our urban design framework and allow communities to share in the development of the City and the overall vision of Plan Abu Dhabi 2030.

Abu Dhabi’s Plan 2030 is establishing a clear vision for sustainability as the foundation of any new development occurring in the Emirate and capital city of Abu Dhabi. This commitment is a reflection of the values and ideals of our nation. They are derived from a thoughtful awareness of relevant economic conditions and influences. Our long term sustainable vision is designed to manage the complexity of our city’s various autonomous systems through a mechanism of visionary governance and overall coordination.

Our role is to activate innovative urban planning responses, supporting and energizing projects that serve our diversification strategy. We are also tasked with creating the blueprint that will be the arbiter of Abu Dhabi 2030’s long term success which will safeguard the well being of the next generation.
